Small enough to whisper, strong enough to last a lifetime, and the one you'll layer everything else around.

Some things never go out of style. This isn't one of them—because it was never in style to begin with. It simply exists beyond trend, beyond time, in that rare space reserved for true classics.

Dainty freshwater pearls, each one hand-knotted on silk thread, create a delicate strand that sits close to your throat like a whispered secret. Choose Daylight for luminous warmth or Twilight for mysterious depth.

Classic elegance doesn't shout. It simply knows.

The Signature Details

  • 3-4mm freshwater pearls, nugget shaped and naturally irregular—no two are identical
  • Each pearl individually hand-knotted on silk cord, a traditional technique that takes time, patience, and skill. The result is a strand so delicate it barely makes itself known, yet substantial enough to last decades. The knots protect pearls from rubbing against one another and ensure beautiful drape.
  • 14"-16" adjustable length with gold-plated or antique silver clasp and built-in extender
  • All metals nickel-free and hypoallergenic
  • Handcrafted to order using traditional jewelry-making techniques

    Choose Your Colorway:

    • Daylight - Creamy white nugget pearls on golden silk thread with gold plated hardware.  Brings luminous warmth—the classic choice, timeless and always right.
    • Twilight - Dark peacock pearls (grayish blue-purple iridescence) on gray silk thread with antique silver plated hardware.  Adds mysterious depth—unexpected elegance for the woman who knows rules are just suggestions.

    The Démodé Difference

Every piece in our collection celebrates the magic of chance and the courage to trust your journey. We believe in jewelry that tells stories, carries intentions, and reminds you that you are both lucky and brave.

The Heirloom Pearl Choker is part of our Signature Collection—pieces built not for a season, but for a lifetime. Several, if you're lucky.

Each pearl individually knotted by hand on silk. Traditional techniques that take time, patience, and skill, because some things shouldn't be rushed.

This is jewelry meant to last decades, to be passed down, to become part of your family's story. In a world of fast fashion and disposable everything, this choker is a quiet rebellion: buy it once, wear it forever, leave it to someone you love.

    About This Piece

    The Heirloom Story

Every woman needs one perfect strand of pearls. Not someday pearls. Real pearls, hand-knotted the way they've been made for centuries, that become more meaningful the longer you own them.

This choker is exactly that—the pearl piece you build your jewelry wardrobe around. Classic enough for your grandmother to recognize, personal enough to feel completely yours.

Pearls form through quiet persistence—an irritant coated in layer upon luminous layer until something difficult becomes something beautiful. That's not metaphor. That's your life. Every pressure point that didn't break you has made you more iridescent.

The silk thread represents the invisible thread of choice that runs through everything. The hand-knotting between each pearl? That's the pause between heartbeats. The breath between words. The space that keeps everything sacred and separate and whole.

Daylight or Twilight. Light or shadow. Both are you. Both are true.

Wear this when you need to remember: timeless doesn't mean unchanging. It means valuable in every era, including this one.

How to Care for Your Pearls

Keep your jewelry beautiful for generations

    View Full Care Guide
    Daily Care
    • Last on, first off: Put your pearls on after applying makeup, perfume, hairspray, and lotions
    • Remove before water: Take off before showering, swimming, or any water activities
    • Gentle cleaning: Wipe pearls with a soft, dry cloth after each wear
    • Body oils are good: Natural skin oils actually help pearls maintain their luster—wearing them keeps them beautiful
    Storage
    • Store flat or hanging: Prevents stress on the silk thread (never store scrunched or tightly coiled)
    • Soft pouch or lined box: Keep separate from other jewelry to prevent scratches
    • Let them breathe: Avoid airtight containers—pearls need moisture in the air
    • Cool and dry: Store away from direct sunlight, extreme temperatures, and humidity
    What to Avoid
    • Water exposure: Especially chlorine (pools), salt water (ocean), and hot water
    • Chemicals: Perfume, hairspray, cleaning products, cosmetics applied directly to pearls
    • Harsh cleaners: Never use ultrasonic cleaners, steam cleaning, or jewelry cleaners
    • Hard surfaces: Don't toss pearls on hard counters or let them rub against other jewelry
    • Abrasives: Keep away from rough fabrics and surfaces that can scratch the nacre
    Restringing & Long-Term Care

With proper care, your pearls will last lifetimes:

    • The pearls themselves: Decades to centuries—they only grow more beautiful with age and gentle wear
    • The silk thread: Needs restringing every 5-10 years (normal maintenance for quality pearl jewelry)
    • Overall piece: This is heirloom jewelry meant to be passed down through generations

Your pearls will last lifetimes with proper care. Wear them often—they're meant to be loved, not locked away.
